Burak Yilmaz

This guy was a major part of Lille's Ligue 1 winning campaign in 2021. He lead the line as they overcame the might of PSG to secure the biggest prize in French football.

He scored some clutch goals in extremely important game sin the run in. At age 36 it's unlikely he'll ever hit this level of performance again, so acknowledging his performances last year would have been a nice touch from EA.

Sebastien Haller

This man has reinvigorated his career since joining Ajax. He's been scoring goal for fun in the Eredivise. Banging in over 30 in a similar number of games. Who'd have bet on that when he was struggling too get a game in the Premier League for West Ham.

He's also light up the Champions League group stage this campaign. He became just the 2nd player ever to score in all 6 group games and also is the fastest player in history to reach 10 Champions League Goals.

Patrik Schick

Just ask Scotland fans if you want to know how good this guy is. He scored 5 goals, including that stunner to help Czech Republic reach the Quarter Finals of Euro 2020. He finished as joint top scorer at the tournament, tied with some little known guy named Cristiano Ronaldo.

He's carried his Euros form into the start of the 21/22 Bundesliga campaign for Bayer Leverkusen as well. Scoring 16 goals in just 14 games. He'd now being linked with a lot of Europe biggest clubs.

MIDFIELDERS

Bukayo Saka

The nickname 'Starboy' is more than fitting for this man. He became a major part of the first England team to reach the final of a major tournament last summer. Despite England failing in the final (and him nearly having his neck broken) he showed he's right up there amongst the best youngsters in the game.

He's also been one of the major reasons for the renaissance of Arsenal in the Premier League this season. Scoring 6 and assisting 4 already this term. He should definetly been included in either the midfielder or attacker nominees.

Ilkay Gundogan

This man defiantly suffers because of the talent that surrounds him at Man City. He was with out a doubt there most consistent contributor from midfield in their Premier League winning season.

Had City come out on top in the Champions League final he might be getting similar levels of hype that Jorginho is currently getting. He has continued his impressive club form to start 21/22 and City look set to retain their title.

Koke

Already an Atleti legend, this man added another La Liga title to his trophy cabinet in 2021. He didn't have a ton of goal contributions, but his versatility means he was used in a less attacking role.

He also made 6 appearances in Spains impressive run to the Semi Finals of Euro 2020. His relentless work rate and team play were big contributing factors in Spain getting further than many people tipped before the tournament started.

DEFENDERS/GOALKEEPERS

John Stones

He's had a slow start this season, but he was a mainstay on the Manchester City team that strolled to a Premier League Title in 2021. It looked like his time at City was coming to an end a couple of years ago. He turned it around last season and was a major contributor to City's Impressive defensive record.

He was also a big part of England's run to the Euro 2020 Final. He helped the defence cope with the early absence of Harry Maguire and only improved as the tournament went on.

Manuel Neuer

This man not been included in the nominees list is probably one of the biggest shocks of all. He's been the best goalkeeper of the past two decades. His incredible reputation might actually be starting to work against.

Bayern Munich were as dominant as ever in the Bundesliga during 2021. After a couple of down the years he has returned to his incredible best.

Thiago Silva

This guy is among the most underrated centre backs in football. He's been performing at the top level the game for years. During 2021 he provided much-needed experience for a young Chelsea side.

He boosted an already incredible career by adding the champions league to his impressive trophy cabinet. While he had to come off injured in the final, you can't deny his overall contribution last year.
